Audio Book Mp3 Downloads Make an Easy Commute

If you're like me and most everyone else I know, you spend quite a bit of time in your car driving back and forth to work. For me, this commuting was an absolute nightmare, full of frustration over the time wasted and the inability to do anything about it. I say "was" because I recently discovered the world of audio books, and now I actually look forward to my daily commute.
Audio books were originally designed to allow people with poor eyesight or blindness to be able to enjoy reading without having to learn Braille or having someone else read to them. As more and more audio books became available, sighted people also began to catch on to audio books as a way to fit reading into very busy schedules. By having audio books in convenient formats that can be listened to through any car stereo, busy people were now able to "read" much more than before.
Audio books are available in several different formats. Audio cassette tape is by far the most prevalent format, though the format has the distinct drawback of wearing out quickly either from tape stretching or outright breakage. CD format audio books are quickly becoming the more commonly available format because of the durability of CDs. The drawback with CDs is the expense, as a CD format audio book can be nearly twice as expensive as its cassette format counterpart.
More recently, MP3 format audio books have become available through several online audio book stores. This is by far the most convenient format since an entire book can fit on your iPod or other MP3 player with room to spare. If your car stereo is MP3 compatible, you may even be able to put the entire book on an MP3 CD or simply plug your MP3 player into the auxiliary jack. Even if your car stereo is not MP3 compatible, FM transmitters are readily available that will allow you to listen to your MP3 audio book through your car stereo.
If you're dreading the next time you have to get in the car to drive to work, you should consider "reading" a good book while you're driving. You'll be amazed at how much shorter the drive seems to be. You may even begin to look forward to
that drive, as I do!
